Abstract Submissions Open for Oral, Poster, and Video Submissions

For Oral and Poster presentations: Data-driven research abstracts will be given priority

For Video Submissions: Both data-driven research and literature reviews can be submitted

Categories: Any research covering Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, or Social Sciences is acceptable. Engineering track prototypes are not accepted this year.

Regular Deadline ($50): October 3, 2026 at 11:59 pm EST

Late Deadline ($60): October 10, 2026 at 11:59 pm EST

Oral presentations are selective. Abstracts not selected for Oral, will be given an option to present a poster or do a video submission

Video Submissions are not live presentation. They are recorded poster presentation. Videos will be judged separately and the results will be emailed on Nov 15, 2026. Winning videos will be highlighted on Horizons Quest You Tube channel and LinkedIn page.

Abstract Submission Guidelines

Word Limit: 150-200 words

Tips for Structure:

  • Title: A clear and concise title that captures the essence of your research. (Suggested: 10-15 words)

  • Author: Include your name, any partner with whom you worked and the mentor’s name

  • Introduction/Background: State the broader scientific question you addressed and why it is important. (Suggested: 30-40 words)

  • Objective: Clearly articulate your research question or hypothesis. (Suggested: 15-20 words)

  • Methods: Briefly describe the key methods you used to answer your question. (Suggested: 40-50 words)

  • Results: Present your most significant findings in a clear, quantitative manner. (Suggested: 40-50 words)

  • Conclusion: Explain the impact of your work and why your findings are important to the field. (Suggested: 25-30 words)

  • Keywords: Optional, but encouraged to help categorize your research.

Eligibility: Open to all high schoolers registered in USA schools or home schooled 

Selection: Fifteen abstracts will be chosen for oral presentations based on these guidelines.

For Oral and Poster presentations, preference will be given to data-driven research problems. For video submissions, literature review can also be submitted. 

Engineering track prototypes are excluded from this symposium.
